    About Us

    Info card

We’re a couple from Switzerland who swapped routine for a life at sea. Together with our dog, we explore the world's oceans on a catamaran. Our journey is about freedom, adventure and life on the water. We share our experiences here on the blog and (maybe later) on our YouTube channel.

    2024

At the beginning of 2024 we were standing by Lake Biel in Switzerland wondering whether we could really discover the world from the water. We signed up for the motorboat exam, learned manoeuvres and knot work and passed the test on shaky legs. After that came the SBF See, the RYA Day Skipper and the RYA SRC. As a crowning achievement we also obtained the Swiss certificate of competence for Ocean Yachting; every certificate brought us a little closer to our dream.

With the certificates in our pocket we chartered catamarans in Croatia and Greece in the summer. We practised anchoring in quiet bays, learned to stay calm in Bora gusts and found joy in the simple life on board. In the autumn Sardinia lured us, then in winter the Seychelles and the Exumas; we marvelled at turquoise lagoons and collected valuable knowledge through exchange with the sailing community. Every trip showed us new sides of sailing and at the same time made us realise how much of the world we still have to see and learn.

In 2026 we will take the next step: we have bought a Fountaine Pajot 44. With our own catamaran we want to set off from La Rochelle in February and slowly work our way towards the Mediterranean. We look forward to cosy evenings at anchor, to meeting other sailors and to gathering experience wave by wave. We do not want to tackle the Atlantic until the end of 2027; not to break records but because we believe that a long lead time will give us and our dog the necessary safety.

Our journey is not a competition and not a show. We seek the freedom of the sea without styling ourselves as adventurers. On our blog and on our YouTube channel we talk openly and honestly about our stages, from stumbling blocks to happy moments and everything in between. If you are curious, come along on this journey with us.
